Siemens Energy HVDC Converter Electronics Engineer in Raleigh, North Carolina

Siemens Energy has an exciting opportunity to develop and grow a new business function in support of the growing US HVDC market. With the increase in demand for HVDC technology moving forward, we have decided to establish a dedicated team within the US to support the delivery of future projects including a full transient network analysis laboratory for functional and dynamic performance testing.
As a HVDC Controls Engineer you will work within a team of HVDC project management and engineering specialists to design and deliver full HVDC control and protection solutions making use of a new HVDC test facility located in Raleigh. You will report to the Engineering Manager – HVDC C&P and will be required to provide engineering work packages in line with project and business objectives.
How You’ll Make an Impact
You are theInterface to the Developers of the Converter Control System for theModular Multilevel Converter of our HVDC systems
You will bepart of the control and protection project team with primaryresponsibility for the configuration, deployment and integration of theconverter control system into the overall control and protection system
Integral partof your work will be troubleshooting of converter Control System as wellas collecting and exchanging relevant with the developers
Preparation ofdesign specifications, documentation, and effort estimations
What You Bring
Successfullycompleted university degree in control engineering or electricalengineering
Experience inintegration and system testing for embedded systems
3+ Yearsexperience
Basic knowledgeof the development of hardware for embedded systems and electroniccircuits
Confident inusing version management systems (esp. git) and experience with CI/CDdesirable
Basic Knowledgein Model Based Systems Engineering preferable with MATLAB/Simulink
Ideally, youcan demonstrate knowledge of HVDC technology especially for ModularMultilevel Converter.
You communicatefluently in English.
