Siemens Energy Drives Engineer - Marine Field Service in Redmond, Washington

Electrification-Automation-Digitalization is looking for a Field Service Engineer with direct experience in servicing integrated industrial solutions with Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Systems technologies for the Marine, and Oil & Gas industries.

The successful candidate will travel to a customer's site and troubleshoot, test, maintain, and/or commission solutions using Siemens Energy drive control systems and industry technology portfolio to satisfy industrial customer requirements or solve problems. The engineer will coordinate with local engineering teams to recommend and deliver high quality technical solutions.

A successful engineer will have a strong educational and industrial background and hands-on experience. A passion for the field and drive to learn and tackle new challenges is an absolute must! The experienced level engineer must be able to develop customer relationships, be accurate and detailed while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple people, calls and projects demanding attention and time. Candidate must also be willing to travel extensively in the US and work the hours needed on industrial job sites to complete the tasks at hand.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • You willcommission customized drive solutions, maintain, and fault findpropulsion, drilling drive, and pumping systems onboard marine vessels.

  • You will learnthe latest industrial solutions and developments within Siemens Energy,and collaborate with designers to test, commission, troubleshoot and / orupdate integrated system drawings.

  • Your proficiencywill be needed in planning workload and specific tasks, and your drivetoward timely completions.

  • Mostly domesticwith some international travel to other Siemens Energy and customerfacilities is required (up to 80%) with international training a potentialrequirement.

What You Bring

  • BS in ElectricalEngineering or related field and 3+ years of experience in Marine or arelated industry is required.

  • Candidates withmore years of experience may be eligible for a more senior level position.

  • Hands on VFDexperience is required with a background in Drive / Motor System SolutionDesign or Service/Commissioning.

  • Experience withSiemens Energy direct current grid solutions is a plus.

  • Experience withSiemens Energy solutions for battery energy storage and battery managementsystems is a pus.

  • Willing and ableto travel 80% of the time (mostly domestic and some International).

  • You willpreferably have

  • Marine, Drillingor Offshore production working experience

  • Automation/SCADAprogramming experience

  • Siemens EnergyAutomation hands on experience

  • Familiarity withNorth American and international codes and standards, OSHA, and safety andlock-out / tag-out procedures.

  • Applicants mustbe legally authorized for employment in the United States without need forcurrent or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energyemployees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internaltransfers.
