Siemens Energy Dispatch Officer in Rural Hall, North Carolina

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Dispatch Officer, your day begins with receiving incoming goods, meticulously comparing them with shipping documents for numbers, descriptions, and quantities. You'll run inventory, enter logistics data, and ensure all items are free from damage, reporting any discrepancies and organizing them for prompt resolution. Throughout the day, you'll engage with various transport services, ensuring compliance and export regulations, prepare and schedule shipments efficiently. Your role also involves proactive communication with team members and interface partners to optimize the logistics chain and support the overall operational flow.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Accept incoming goods and meticulously compare them with the shipping document to ensure accuracy in material number, description, and quantity, utilizing proficient skills in Word and Excel.

  • Inspect incoming goods for visible damage, document any discrepancies, and provide necessary information for prompt resolution.

  • Manage transport equipment such as hand-guided industrial trucks and forklifts safely and efficiently, while ensuring all dispatch documents follow regulations for timely and cost-efficient delivery.

  • Assemble and prepare goods in line with delivery priorities and agreements to design optimal dispatch plans and meet customer requirements.

  • Distribute transport services to external service providers, adhering to laws and regulations related to export and customs, to ensure smooth and low-cost transport.

  • Enter and maintain processing logistics data to secure and streamline the flow of goods and values.

  • Actively chip in to collaborating with all team members, sharing relevant information to maintain an informed team and create an optimum logistics chain.

  • Schedule packaging materials like EU-Pallets and cardboard packaging efficiently to meet dispatch needs.

  • Forward information about transport damages and claims notifications to the respective contacts for immediate action.

What You Bring

  • A high school diploma or its equivalent is required, along with proficient skills in using Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Required experience includes inventory product management and familiarity with SAP Logistic Functions.

  • Bring 2-5 years of experience with Shipping and Receiving processes, including Fork Truck operations.

  • Must be competent in using the “Set P Portal” for receiving and shipping operations.

  • Awareness of and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to dispatch and shipping is crucial.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

About the Team

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
